Story
Having battled with her own Mental Health Marta was encouraged by her GP to continue her sea swimming. Marta has truly embraced the sea and has benefited greatly from her daily swims. Sea swimming has been proven to be effective for lowering incidences of depression and anxiety and improve sleep patterns. Swimming releases endorphins, the natural feel good hormones that lead us to experience a greater sense of happiness and wellbeing.
Marta has been supported by MIND Jersey over the past few years and wanted to set herself a challenge, this being swimming in each of Jersey's 12 parishes all in one day! Currently as I set up this page in January the current sea temperature is 8.4c and in just one months time Marta will be attempting 12 cold water swims in one day on 21 February 2021.
