Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our best friends son Ollie (born 3 months early) was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was a year old. This mostly affects his legs and means he is unable to walk unaided and also means that by the age of 15 he will be confined to a wheelchair. However, there is potentially light at the end of the tunnel in the shape of a pioneering operation called SDR (selective Dorsal Rhizotomy). Ollie is able to have this operation but unfortunately the operation is no longer available on the NHS and the cost to give Ollie his legs is over £40,000 due to the many months of intense Physiotherapy required to make it a success.
Ollie is an amazing little boy who we spend a huge amount of time with. He has an infectious smile and an unbelievable personality. He has experienced more challenges in his 6 years that most of us ever will and we know what a difference this surgery will make to his life.
This will be a big personal challenge for us both (especially as I know Dave may have to push Marsha for the last 20 miles). Come rain or shine Marsha will be wearing her lip gloss and looking as glamorous as ever.
So please help us raise the much needed funds for Ollie so that he can avoid being confined to a wheelchair and enjoy a better quality of life.
