Story
As some of you may know, I have recently taken up cold water swimming in the estuary at Brightlingsea. However, I am firmly in the winter wetsuit camp not with the crazy people who just wear a swimsuit. To try and raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, on my birthday (19th January) I will take a dip just in my swimsuit, but only if I get some sponsorship! At that time of year the water temperature locally is likely to be around 3-5 degrees Celsius. Chilly! There is some research that cold water swimming could help prevent disease such as Alzheimer’s, so this is an excellent charity to try and raise some money for!
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever with the tireless work they do.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
