Story
Hi
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have chosen to plan myself a 110 Mile Sponsored Cycle in order to raise funds for the hospice that took care of my Mother when I could not.
I am not particularly sporty, but cycling has been a very helpful method of grieving for me, these past few months.
Mummy was diagnosed with Terminal Bowel Cancer when I was 9 and things looked very bleak. Despite intensive surgery and many many courses of Chemo, Radio and various other therapies I believe that it was not these treatments that kept her going for an incredible 6 more years but her un-describable love for life which gave her a few more vital years.
This cycle, I hope, as I have found with cycling to school on my new mode of transport - Mum's bike - will bring not only vital funds to a very worthy charity, but a form of grieving to me as I find with cycling I often flashback to Mummy cycling on the same bike with me as a toddler or looking over my shoulder on my bike and her being there. We both love cycling and I would like to cycle much further one day although I am currently trying very hard with my studies to make a future for myself and to enable me to move away and find a home again.
