It’s that time of year again where I will be cycling to Skegness and back for charity. Last year was really successful and you all helped me raise over £800. If you remember last time I had just stopped smoking but this time I have not had a cigarette for 14months (not really anything to do with this, just showing off).
I did find some photographic evidence of me arriving in Skegness and back in Leicester from last year which I was going to post here but realised that with a bright yellow top and black shorts I looked like a fat bumble bee.
This year we are going to try and get there as quickly as possible, we set off at 6am and hope to be 85 miles away in Skeggy by 11:30am.
It’s not just us there will be around 2-300 people biking with us on the way there. The trip back will be only 20-20 riders at the most which should tell you something about how hard this is to do 2 days running.
We are working hard for a very good cause so please sponsor us, even if it’s only a couple of quid.

So having done the Leicester to Skegness run before (that's just under a 100 miles in old money) a few years ago - I decided to have another bash, but this time Cycling back the next day!
It may not sound particularly difficult but after carbing up (ahem) after getting there, the next day those legs *really* aren't up for the return journey. So I've been training with my work colleague David Steele and Rob Kenney since March in the hope I don't wimp out on the return journey.
Its also worth pointing out I'm also splitting the pot to the Lord Mayor's Stroke Fund for the sterling work they've provided to Dave Palmer over the past year. Simple rules are: monies collected personally goto that - online monies to Loros!
Note: some will remember me doing the 'one-way' journey a few years back. You can check out the previous attempts at...
