Mark Whittle's Ironman Germany Challenge
Fundraising for Help for Heroes
On the 1st August 2010 I'm going to to compete in an Ironman triathlon race. Ironman Regensburg (in southern Germany) consists of a 3.8km swim (2.5 miles), a 180km cycle (112 miles) followed by a marathon run! Am I mad? Do you think I can do it? With your support I'm positive I can.
Help for Heroes is my nominated charity, as a serving member of HM Forces it is a charity close to my heart. Help for Heroes was founded in 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from and . The message of the charity is simple, Help for Heroes are strictly non political, they simply want to help. They believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. These are ordinary people doing extraordinary things and some of them are living with the consequences of their service for life. We may not be able to prevent our Servicemen and women from being wounded, but together we can help them get better. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Thank you for your much needed support.
