Story
Hello Everyone
My name is Mark Ward and I am a 19 year-old apprentice with British Telecom. Just last month, BT announced that it would be joining force with Child Line in order to raise awareness to some of the disadvantages of children in India. The trek will take place on the 6th May.
I am participating in the India Trek to raise funds for the benefit of ChildLine, a service provided by the NSPCC, registered charity number 216401 and SC037717. I have guaranteed to raise at least £2500 a share of which will be used to pay the costs of my flight and accomodation.
The trip itself is no luxury holiday and we will be trekking for five days, camping with mattresses and make-shift tents. The highest point of our ascent is 3500m's and the journey is rated as being quite difficult. However, I understand that this trek and its proceeds are going to a great cause and look forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity.
ChildLine is a fantastic and incredibly worthwhile cause that provides a free 24-hour helpline for children who are in distress or danger. Everyday ChildLine receives around 4,500 calls, but due to a lack of funds only around 2,500 of these will be answered. Please help me to try and improve this by donating now.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ChildLine will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. All donations are greatly appreciated
So please sponsor me!
Many thanks for your support.
Mark.
