Mark and Tom are taking on the Run to the Beat half marathon for two reasons:

1. We're bloody great guys who do swell things for charities

2. It's a cause which has affected one of us a lot in the last year...

About a year ago Mark's dad was diagnosed with Lymphoma (cancer of the cells which make up your immune system). Following a series of mis-diagnoses and cock ups from our friends in the health system, he only began treatment earlier this year. Four months later, and after enough chemotherapy to knock out a small horse, he left hospital TODAY after a completing a succesful stem cell transplant.

Such are the complications with Lymphoma, the work of L&LR is as important as ever. Mark's dad was lucky that, regardless of mis-diagnoses, he has been able to recieve a comprehensive regime of treatment which (we hope) will keep him alive for many years to come. 

Run to the Beat is in less than two weeks, so we don't have long to take all your money. So no fannying about, just donate and help us raise some cash for a good cause.
