Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Thought I would do something a little different for my 40th, while the joints still work and I have some friends left, I have entered the Great river race (22miles) in a dragon boat with 15 of my nearest and dearest. There will be over 300 boats competing and our plan is to break the 3 hour barrier while still being friends at the end and not requiring back surgery.
Cherry Trees is a special place that provides short term respite care for children, near Guildford, Surrey and does an amazing job caring for the individuals that stay there whether it is for a couple of hours, days or a week , giving that vital support and time to the families that use it.
I haven't raised money since doing the marathon in 1991 ( when I was 12!!) So here goes, rather than spend it on beer thought I might do something that I remember the next day.
Thanks again for visiting the site, the plan is that the children from Cherry Trees will come and watch the end of the race, so to know that we have made such a big difference to a small charity will be wonderful.
