UPDATE - I did it!
I managed to run the marathon in 4 hours and 48 minutes without stopping!
Thanks to all those of you who supported me on the day and those who have sponsored me. I have raised more money than I could have ever imagined!
I can hardly walk (the day after). The pain will go, but the acheivement never will!
Now, where's my pint.....

Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to take part in the London Marathon. I can't think of a logical reason why, after all sitting in a pub is a lot more enjoyable.
Anyway, the images of the event on TV from my early years have been a source of inspiration to me, and now I've finally got a place!
Woah what a feeling! I'm as apprehensive as I am excited, but most of all I'm driven by the fact that I now have the opportunity to achieve a lifelong ambition. How many people can say that? Regrettably, the other ambition to play for the mighty Swindon Town has passed me by, and I'm disappointed to be overlooked by Paul Sturrock.
Best of all though, is that I get to raise some money for charity along they way. It seems a fair trade to me. To go through the suffering of marathon running seems inconsequential compared to those who have suffered by cardiovascular disease.
So now it's your turn, you get the easy bit. I know some of you find it rather strenuous to open your wallets, but that's all you have to do. I'm sure there will be alot of people willing to pay in return for my pain!
Thanks for taking the time to visit this page, it means alot. I hope you can also find the time to click on the sponsor me now button.
