Story
In March 2023, I'm taking part in Expedition Limitless, a 110km snowshoe trek above the Swedish Arctic Circle to fundraise for mental health charity, Isle Listen, whose essential work is centred around mental health early intervention and prevention; helping to avoid the unnecessary escalation of mental health problems in young people.
As well as much needed funds, we aim to demonstrate the innate resilience within young people when given the opportunity.
The ‘Expedition Limitless’ will trek the first section of 110km of ‘Kungsleden’ or ‘Kingsway’ from Abisko to Nikaluokta. An Arctic adventure route that follows the enormous valleys of remote northernmost Sweden. Lofty 2000m peaks will surround us as we trek through high passes from one valley into the next.
Please find it in your heart to donate, whatever you can afford, to my total to help more young people have thriving mental health.
Isle Listen services are provided free of charge as we do not receive any government funding, thus relying on charitable fundraising.
Isle Listen aim to be a catalyst for change in the way that mental health is perceived and help to empower young people with skills and emotional resilience to cope with the stresses and setbacks they will face throughout life.
Isle Listen is part of MCH Psychological Services, an Isle of Man registered charity with nearly 40 years experience providing psychological support. They are providing our mental health support and wide-reaching educational programme in all 6 secondary schools and 27 of the 33 primary schools on the Island, but there is still much to do, and with your kind support, we can help them deliver more support to young people!
