Story
When I was a 10 year old boy, my uncle Charlie took his life. He was just 41.
As I approach the age that he was when he made that decision, I have thought about him more and more.
Over the years, I have tried to get my feelings out in one way or another, but despite over 25 years passing since he died, the grief is always there in the background.
No family should have to experience this feeling.
Unfortunately, in the recent years, i have seen friends lose their brothers, wives lose their husbands, and people be destroyed by this permanent solution, to what is sometimes something which can be helped.
Depression is a real leveler, it can effect anyone. Rich or poor, old or young. Outwardly you may be smiling, the life and soul of a party. Inwardly, you are lost without the way to see a way back. People you may think have it all, may be breaking inside.
Professor Green made a documentary called 'Suicide and Me' which inspired me to tell my version of my families story. You can read it here:
