UPDATE: THE WALK WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON 22ND AUGUST!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: James Whale Fund Ltd gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
As most of you will know, Adam and I lost our Grandad to kidney cancer in October 2007. He was denied treatment with the drug Sutent, as it was not deemed cost-effective. Eventually, after appeals to the Primary Care Trust, he was given the drug but it was too late.
Our Grandad was an incredible individual and was always there for his family and friends. He was a man that we were incredibly proud of, simply because of who he was and how he provided for his family.
This walk is primarily in our Grandad's memory, but we would also like to raise some money too for the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a 24.5 mile walk taking in the three highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales: Pen-y-ghent (694 metres - 2,276 feet), Whernside (736 metres - 2,415 feet) and Ingleborough (723 metres 2,372 feet) and the countryside between these. The walk has to be completed in one go in under 12 hours.
Any donation that you can make will be very much appreciated!
Thanks from the Lumb, Nicol and Gill families.
