I’m trying to raise some money for EllenorLions Hospices by completing the L’Etape du Tour: Acte II Issoire to St Flour on Sun 17^th July, so please sponsor me on Just Giving and hopefully Barclays will match whatever I raise pound for pound 

  

EllenorLions Hospices:

The reason I’m raising money for EllenorLions Hospices is that my cousin’s daughter, Zoe, was diagnosed with a rare and particularly aggressive cancer and these hospices are providing excellent care for her.  Luckily against all the odds Zoe survived her cancer and started school like any normal child.  Unfortunately the life saving surgery that Zoe had has left its legacy and she continues to need major surgery (her next operation is on 6 ^th July) and EllenorLions Hospices continue to help with her rehabilitation after she comes out of intensive care.

L’Etape du Tour:

The general public can participate in a stage of The Tour de France (known as L’Etape du Tour).  This year for the first time there are two stages that you can enter.  I’ve entered the second one from Issoire to St Flour 208 km (about 130 miles) and a total ascent of 3500 meters.  If this alone isn’t enough of a challenge, it is likely to be really hot and I’m hoping to get round without being hospitalised or swept up by the broom wagon.
