My dad, Glenn Ford, was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2018.  Sadly, despite all of the hard and exhausting treatment and after an incredibly brave and inspirational battle against the disease, he passed away at Isabel Hospice in April 2019 at the age of just 61. We were so fortunate to get him into Isabel’s for the last week of his life and to see first hand the level of care that everyone at Isabel’s gives and the dignity that being in a hospice at the end of life can give. 

Dad was a very keen runner (running 2.58 at the London Marathon himself!) which is something I have followed him into, and have been fortunate to fall back on during the toughest of times, so this is definitely the perfect challenge to raise as much money as possible for a great cause and in his memory. 

I feel incredibly lucky (if somewhat daunted with about 10 weeks to train!) to get to run the London Marathon for this amazing charity and raise money for what is an incredibly worthy and important cause.

Isabel Hospice provides palliative support to the 370,000 people who live in eastern Hertfordshire.Hospice care is about helping people to live well for as long as possible and have a good death in the place of their choice when the time comes. Without your help, we could not make this possible for our patients and their families. Each year we care for approx 2,000 people but we know there are even more people that need our help.
