Story
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
In August 2020 it was the height of the Pandemic, my grandmother who was dearly loved by all was taken to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Hospice. Although we didn’t know it at first, she was to spend her last days there. Due to the aforementioned Pandemic, family could not visit which led to my Grandma being cared for solely by the fantastic staff at the Hospice.
In the end she passed peacefully with the staff by her side, caring for her while we couldn’t.
I want to give back to them, by ensuring their good work continues to help families during their dark days by providing a little light.
To achieve this goal my wife and I, who are novice cyclists have decided to cycle from Cheltenham to Lands End, just under 300 miles in August this year over three days.
