From July 2nd I plan to break the 18,000 mile cycling circumnavigation World Record in a time of less than 80 days, whilst aiming to raise £80,000 for Orkidstudio.
Because
Around the World in 80 Days is the culmination of two decades of experience, since I was a 12 year old cycling across Scotland. This is my biggest dream in endurance cycling and I am passionate about continuing to support the great work of Orkidstudio.
My Story
240 miles every day, 16 hours a day in the saddle… is it possible to pedal around the planet in 80 days?
Over the last 3 years I have built the team, research and training to once again cycle 18,000 miles around the World.
I am asking you to help me raise £80,000 over the course of the 80days.
Orkidstudio is a fantastic small charity who I have worked with for the past decade, who benefit communities through innovative architecture and construction. The funds raised through my recent Africa Solo expedition helped fund a hospital in northern Zambia called Sachibondu.
So please do sponsor my challenge by texting 'ORKD80 £10' to 70070 or by using the donate button below - and if you wish to donate a larger amount you can also do this through the donate button
From Paris to Beijing, Perth to Brisbane, from Invercargil to Auckland, Anchorage to Halifax and finally Lisbon back to Paris, this should be an exciting race to follow online at
artemisworldcycle.com and through twitter and instagram at @MrMarkBeaumont
But that’s not all… I would love to see you set your own 80 day challenge this summer - either to support Orkidstudio yourself or a charity of your choice. Just click ‘start fundraising’ and let me know about your efforts on social media using #My80Days. Good luck and many thanks for all your support!
