The Keep Me Close Appeal - providing a home from home experience for families of sick and premature babies requiring Neonatal Intensive Care.

Story

Terry (dad) is raising money for the hospitals who support them when Huxley was born at 27+6 weeks weighing just 754g. The care and support he was given in those early weeks was amazing. They care of extremely premature and sick babies and our local hospital was unable care for him due to how early and he size so we transferred to Derriford before he was born. For some families this is emotionally, physically and financially demanding, placing people under incredible pressure. This charity therefore supports parents with the freedom to stay near their newborn child. The Keep Me Close Appeal for Derriford hospital opened a home-from-home on 15 November 2019 for the families of babies who are in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Derriford Hospital. They support the families and the NICU with things they need.

Terry is cycling from London to Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset in one day to raise money as a thank for everything they did for Huxley.
