Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Over a thousand training miles in the saddle now; and it sure feels like it! Thankfully, I will be able to recover on the Champs Elysees in Paris on July 26th 2009 and watch the Tour de France finish; having cycled the 280 miles from London in 3 consecutive days. Thats the cycling equivalent of nearly 3 Marathons! - 1 a day for 3 days!! (Hopefully we won't get lost and have to cycle more!)
I would very much appreciate it if you donated to this wonderful charity, which provides invaluable help to ex - servicemen and women of HM Armed Forces. Specifically they support ex - servicemen and women whose sight has been damaged through combat or that has deterioted through illness.I have chosen St. Dunsatn's because I have been helped by them, being a partially sighted ex-serviceman and ‘seeing’ life from the other side of the coin. I, like many others, have benefited from and appreciate the support they give.
I have paid for all the trip costs; the return train fares to London, Eurostar from Paris, accomodation etc., meaning that every penny donated goes straight to charity - No deductions!
Don't forget to agree to Gift Aid, it costs you nothing and can add a whacking 25% to your total.
Due to the generosity so far the amount raised has been highter than exopected - everyone has been incredibly kind so I have re-evaluated my target appropriatley.
Many many thanks for your donation.
