Mark's Five Peaks in 48 hours Challenge

The Barclays Five Peaks in 48 hours Challenge · 2 July 2014
At 8 am on 3 July 2014, I’ll be joining an intrepid group of Barclays adventurers in North Wales and take that first step towards the summit of Mount Snowdon. After tackling the Wales’s highest peak (and yes, taking the mountain railway is cheating!), I’ll move on to scale the four highest peaks in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, all in under 48 hours. Oh, and as I’m a glutton for punishment, I’ll be setting off on this adventure on my birthday.
Why, I hear you ask, would I take on this challenge? Madness, strangely, isn’t the answer, but youth unemployment is. Unemployment is one of the biggest challenges we face in society today, with massive and far-reaching ramifications for the over 1 million under-25s out of work in the UK, and wider implications for all. So I’m fundraising and walking for Tomorrow’s People, a charity dedicated to getting the most disadvantaged unemployed people in the hardest to reach parts of our communities into jobs, breaking the cycle of generational worklessness. Tomorrow's People rely on the public's generosity to do their great work, so 48 hours of pain is a small price to pay to help their cause.
Please dig deep and give what you can – this is a fantastic cause and you can rest assured I’ll be earning your sponsorship money. In addition, Barclays will kindly match your donation £4£, so you’ll be doubling your donation.
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails.
