Story
I wanted a new challenge to push myself, having recently had my 60th birthday, also following my recent head injury, and making the decision to retire. I am very aware that, if that had occured whilst playing rugby, I would have been in need of some support. With the recent bad injuries and death of some young players, this has brought home to me how much is needed to support others.
Restart is the official charity of the Rugby Players Association and is dedicated to supporting professional players suffering from serious injury, illness or hardship. Players give everything for club and country but their lives can change in an instant. Should the worst happen, Restart is there to provide financial, practical and emotional support, helping with the cost of medical treatment, rehabilitation and career transition. We also provide a counselling service for players and their families during their darkest times.
