Story
As most of my family and friends will know my brother Lee passed away in March this year. Mental Health is something we just dont discuss nearly enough as we should, even after all the high profile news story's, mens mental health in particular is still something that no one wants to talk about. It's a difficult subject to approach for a lot of people and remains a taboo, that it's self is just wrong on so many levels.
My family and friends believe that this is a discussion we should be having, we believe that everyone has a right to be heard and should not feel afraid to speak up and tell their story. In memory of Lee we would like to help raise awareness and hopefully donations for MIND the mental health charity.
I wont ever truly understand the troubles and worries that Lee fought, they were his and his alone. I do know that Lee was not afraid to speak up though and acknowledged he needed help, not afraid to ask for help and get the support he needed from his family and friends.
In our weakest moments great strength comes from those around us, who will stand in the shadows with us and listen, sometimes that's all it take's, just a friend who will listen or be there for you. In my past and that if some of my closest friends it is the love and support we receive that has given us the resilience to keep going. We want to keep the fight moving forward, we want to make sure that for one of the most silent of illnesses that we help as many people as we can, that we shout as loud as we can and be the voice for those that at this time dont have the strength to talk, we will be their voice.
Any help, even just by spreading this message is greatly appreciated.
When the darkness falls, and the demons come forth, call on me, my brother, and we will fight them together.
