Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Madly, I am attempting 'The 3 Peak Challenge', with a group of 3 friends this weekend.
Gosh, who's idea was that? Was I in the pub at the time? Did I really say I would? Well - with more dangerously unattractive outdoor gear than any grown man should have, off I go on Thursday!
The National Three Peaks Challenge is a mountain-endurance challenge in Great Britain, in which participants attempt to climb the highest peaks of each of the island's three countries, within 24 hours. The mountains climbed, in order of elevation, are Ben Nevis in Western Scotland, 1,344 metres (4,409 ft), Snowdon in North Wales, 1,085 metres (3,560 ft), and Scafell Pike in North-Western England, 978 metres (3,209 ft). The challenge involves some 42 kilometres (26 mi) of ascent and descent, with total travel approaching 765 kilometres (475 mi).
I have been training hard and even given up drinking!!!, so with my red thong packed, I am ready to go. The weather will be awful, but the pint of guinness at the end a treat. Please support me, so I can raise as much money as possible. If I can raise over £500 in sponsorship, I will put the infamous 'red thong' on at the top of each peak!!!! Yes, it will be snowy still at the top of 2 of the mountains! Joy! And more worryingly post a picture to prove it!!!
I am sharing my sponsorship between Great Ormond Street Hospital, which has been fabulous in supporting Tia (my youngest daughter) from before she was born and continues to do so and the EveryMan Cancer Charity for men, which is the charity my company, ThornJewellery supports. Great causes and dear to me, so please give a little if you can.
Thank you.
