Story
I took a year off fundraising after my half-Ironman. Cancer doesn't take breaks. My former brother-in-law Steve Coppock, who I'd known 25 years, was diagnosed with throat cancer late in 2012 and died within six months, leaving his wife Julie and two young sons.
That's why, experience having taught me that successful fundraising means going harder and farther every time, I'm back in training for my longest, hardest challenge yet: Ironman Mallorca on 27th September. A 2.4 mile swim in the Med is followed by 112 miles cycling the mountainous Northeast of the island and rounded off with a Marathon. Probably in the dark.
One in three of us and our loved ones will get cancer. We can make sure that Macmillan is there to help us live with and beyond it. Please give generously.
As usual I'm covering all costs myself. The money you donate will go to Macmillan in full.
