Earlier this year my dad died as a result of Mesothelioma. This is a type of cancer that occurs as a result of exposure to asbestos. The most common area of the body that it affects is the lining of the lungs and chest wall.

Mesothelioma is generally resistant to radiotherapy treatment and as a result long-term survival and cures are exceedingly rare.
