My life has been touched by Bowel Cancer on more than one occassion so once I caught the running bug and mates suggested running in organised events I thought it was a great opportunity to raise some money to help the clever scientist types continue their research into fighting this and other cancers,

This leg of my journey is the Bupa Great North Run and the organisers describe it sipmly as; 

THE most iconic half-marathon on the planet (nuff sed!)
