We work to raise awareness and to increase research into Fowler’s Syndrome

Story

On 18th June 2022 Danny and I are running the Wall, a 70 mile Ultramarathon, from Carlisle to Newcastle, raising money for Fowler’s Syndrome UK.

Fowler’s Syndrome is a rare debilitating condition which causes full or partial urine rentention due to sphincters muscle failure to relax. There is currently no cure for the condition and limited treatment options available.

In 2020 my partner, Abbie developed Fowler’s Syndrome following contracting Covid. After four operations and multiple long hospital admissions, Abbie underwent major surgery in October for a Mitrofanoff procedure; a full reconstruction and rediversion of her bladder. We would like to raise money for Fowler’s Syndrome UK to increase the research and education into Fowler’s Syndrome, with the aim of reducing diagnosis time, improving patient care and developing knowledge into this rare condition.
