Story
This May I am participating in the Dazzle Walk 2022 to raise money for The Ehlers-Danlos Support UK.
As a family, we have decided to walk 10,000 steps a day each, throughout May to raise money and awareness for EDS.
In 2019 Molly was diagnosed with the life changing condition Classic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. This disease affects the collagen in her body, meaning that her blood vessels don’t ‘widen’ as much as someone without the disease. This can lead to major blood vessel rupture, organ failure, and means she’s much more susceptible to falling, and injuring herself more severely than people without the disease. Her muscles don’t develop as fast as her body is growing, and it leaves her weaker than people without the disease, and can be in pain. She uses a wheelchair on particularity troubling days, and walking 10,000 steps a day is a real challenge for her - however, she’s absolutely determined to do this and raise awareness, and of course funding, for the charity.
