Tour de Frimley is a cycling challenge event to raise money for the Frimley Health Charity Stroke Appeal. For 2019, the Tour de Frimley riders will be tackling part of the Spanish Pyrenees.

Story

I’m attempting a long bicycle ride to raise funds for the Frimley
Park Hospital’s stroke unit just before I turn sixty years old.

Some fifteen of us are
putting ourselves through it, by tackling thousands of meters of mountain
climbing whilst cycling some 600 km in five days in Northern Spain, with a start
and finish of riding from Frimley Park Hospital to and from the ferry at
Portsmouth.

Hopefully this ride can show
what can be achieved by effort and determination whilst supporting a worthwhile
cause, because a stroke can be such a debilitating and life-changing event. Frimley
Park’s stroke unit offers the best possible chances of recovery.

As the veteran of the group,
I feel I need to show these youngsters that there is life in this old dog yet.
I need your support to raise funds for the worthy cause of Frimley Park’s
stroke unit.

I’m going on a long cycle ride.
Farcical.
