Story
A few weeks ago Paul and I were delighted and somewhat daunted to find ourselves among the chosen few for the smaller rescheduled London to Brighton Cycle Ride on 19 September 2021. As the event will be much smaller than normal it is even more important for us to raise as much as possible for a good cause, the most obvious one for me being the British Heart Foundation.
In 2016 I had a minor heart attack and taking up cycling has helped me to stay fit and healthy since then. The British Heart Foundation also provided massive support, so I'd like to do as much as I can to help them so they carry on helping people living with heart and related conditions.
There are over 7.5 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases in the UK; these lead to a quarter of all deaths in the UK. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for an hour of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps, so please give what you can to help us hit our target.
The training timetable is in place and we're cycling come rain or shine - mostly the former - and we’re upping our game so we can tackle the dreaded Ditchling Beacon – oh and the other 54 miles from Clapham Common to Brighton seafront! Please help me raise money for this fantastic charity - I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support, so in advance, a huge THANK YOU!
