The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

I started running during lockdown in 2020 by doing "Couch to 5K". At the beginning I could barely run for a minute without having to stop.  Over time I gradually increased the distance I could run and now I'm attempting a big challenge - running the London marathon on 2nd October 2022.  A marathon or 26.2 miles is a long way and I'm doing this to raise money for the National Autistic Society (NAS).

Individuals on the autistic spectrum vary enormously.  For some you wouldn't know they are on the spectrum.  Many are talented and are good at hiding things they find challenging.  Some require 24 hour support and help.  The NAS supports individuals and families and campaigns to help create a society that works for everyone on the spectrum.  You can read more about their work here: https://www.autism.org.uk/

You can see how my training is coming along over weeks and months by looking at the runs below!
