The Cause....
On Sunday 20th May 2012 Niamh Curry, a sufferer of Neuroblastoma, passed away after losing her 18 month battle with the dreadful disease.
Neuroblastoma is a vile form of childhood cancer usually affecting those under the age of 5. As it stands the cause is as of yet unknown and treatment can cost up to 1/2 million pounds only currently available in the US.
Awareness, education, research and hopefully one day a cure in Niamh's memory.
The Event...
On 16th March 2013 I will be participating in an event called a 'Rock Solid Race' in Exeter.
This requires participants to run a 10 km (6 mile) course consisting of around 35 obstacles, such as 8ft walls, 1km of sandbag carrying, climbing massive bales of hay, waist high water, glorious mud, hills, ropes and cargo netting at the very least.
Basically a course designed to break even of the fittest of them all... if you finish you are guaranteed to be soaked, caked in mud and aching for about a week.
Even the race waiver asks those made to complete the course to accept responsibility for but not limited to drowning... fractures... animal bites... and the potential for permanent paralysis or death!
If you would happy pay to see me put myself through the this hellish cause please dig deep and support this fantastic, life changing cause.
