Story
I am running the New York marathon on 4th November in aid of Cancer Research UK. My brother-in-law works on the research side there and I know the advances they are making in fighting cancer. Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer, but survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years. Your donation can help save lives, but click on the link to Cancer Research UK to see some inspiring stories from people who have survived and to hear about some of the advances they are making fighting cancer.
After three rejections in the ballot, I was given a guaranteed place in this years' marathon. This means that I haven't had to go the charity route to get a place and 100% of your donation goes straight to Cancer Research. Training is going well - I'm up to 3 hours on my weekend runs and getting through plenty of vaseline. It has been eight years and two children since my last marathon so I'm not sure about a new record. Please put a predicted time next to your donation, and the nearest will get a couple of bottles of wine (hint - PB is 3 hrs 49 min).
