Story
Hi, my name is Mark Maguire and my close friend Steven Haworth was diagnosed with Cancer at the end of November 2010. The type of Cancer was Small Cell Cancer, a very aggressive type.
The Cancer had already spread to three places by that stage and Steven needed a major operation on his back to avoid being paralysed and another a few weeks later to repair a broken neck.
The Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy didn't work and he was transferred to Bolton Hospice at the start of February. He had been kept informed at each stage and he knew the prognosis and how quickly things were moving on.
Steven died during the afternoon of his 30th birthday, on the 13th February 2011.
The staff at Hope Hospital, Christies and Bolton Hospice were brilliant and I want to concentrate my donations on Bolton Hospice to thank them for making Steven's final weeks more bearable than they would otherwise have been.
I am taking part in the Bolton 10K run on the 17th April 2011 and I am very keen to raise as much as I can for the Bolton Hospice, who rely heavily on donations to keep their services going .
It would be great if you could help me, by donating, to make sure that these services are still available to other people in the future.
