Story
Thank you for opening our fundraising link and reading our story.
Andy, Brad and myself work within the Medical Industry and at the moment, feel redundant to say the least. As part of our daily job, we support NHS staff and Surgeons in the use of our products.
We are doing this challenge to help support front line staff at Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth. I am sure that everyone has felt the awful affects of terminal illness with your friends and family with some close friends of mine passing in the past few weeks.
Charities in general, but, especially Marie Curie have been hit hard through this pandemic and to know terminally ill patients are alone through this period is heartbreaking. This money is to go directly to support the amazing work that the staff do there on a daily basis, being there as a carer, a comforter but most importantly a friend.
So what is the challenge I hear you ask.........because of the constraints placed on everyone at the moment, we cannot exercise outdoors for longer than an hour, so, we are bringing this challenge indoors.
As a team of 3 we will be cycling continuously for 24hrs on our turbo trainers/watt bikes - but more specifically on Zwift (Online virtual reality cycling world). For anyone that has ridden a bike - 1 hour on the turbo is hell let alone for a day between us.
Please give if you can - we understand these are tough and uncertain times, but, any donation will really make a huge difference to this incredible organisation.
Many thanks and see you on the other side.
Brad, Andy and Mark
P.S. We would love you to join us on our ride. We are hoping to have some celebrities riding with us at certain points, so if you are on Zwift, add us as friends (Mark Lewis/Bradlee Tod/Andy Davies) click to join us on the homepage and ride with us for however long you wish.
