Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October of last year, I lost my nephew Joey in a tragic accident - at 22 years old he was a Royal Marine Recruit, fast on the way to earning the coveted green beret in his dream career.
He was proudly following in the Armed Forces footsteps of his twin brother Jordan and his Dad Chris.
His passing has been truly devastating and he will never be forgotten.
In memory of Joey, my friends John Piper, Steve Dyson together with my brother Chris and Joey's twin brother Jordan have decided that as large, slightly overweight cyclists (well, not Jordan!)...a true challenge would always involve climbing as those that have cycled with me over the years will understand that it is most definitely not my strength!!
We have decided to climb 10 of the iconic Tour de France 'Cols' in 3 days which will equate to a 'mere' 68,000 ft of ascent - it will include the brutal Col du Glandon, Alpe D'Huez and no alpine challenge would be complete without the feared and fabled Galibier!
The Royal Marines Charity will be the beneficiaries of our toil and we want to raise as much as we possibly can!
