Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Due to the success of my previous page (https://www.justgiving.com/Mark-Kinga) I have decided to take on my biggest challenge to date in memory of my sadly departed fiancée Kinga Nowicka. Back in 2012 I lost Kinga to a very rare but extremely aggressive form of cancer called Sarcoma. Kinga only battled the disease for 4 months before it sadly took her life. My hope is that one day, with the funds raised from such pages as mine, we will hopefully help SarcomaUK develop new forms of treatment and potentially find a cure for this aggressive form of Cancer.
My challenge this year is to cycle round the entire boarder or Wales (approx 650mile) over 5 days. I plan to start my journey on 30th June 2015 and finish on the 4th July. My start and finish point will be The Boars Head in Northop Hall as this is where I met Kinga for the first time. I have targeted the 4th July as my finish date as this will be the anniversary of Kinga's passing so is a good driving force to help me complete the challenge on time. My plan is to reach the South East corner of Wales after day one which will mean me clocking over 150 miles following the border. This is far in excess of what I have previously cycled in one hit and actually more than double my previous best. Days 2, 3 & 4 will see me following the coast line up to the North West corner of Wales and cycle round Anglesey. The final day will be a day I am joined by friends and family to cycle from Bangor back to Northop Hall. However, on all 5 days I will have the support of my best friend who will be my support vehicle, along with a couple of friends who have said they will join in on the odd day here and there. As I said this is by far my toughest challenge but hopefully your kind donations and messages will keep me driving on.
I don't really have a target amount as any amount would be fantastic but if I could reach over £2000 then I will have helped raise over £10,000 for SarcomaUK in Kinga's memory which would truly be fantastic and a fitting tribute to a special lady. However, I've put £5000 as a target like my last page in the hope it might do as well again.
I am likely to be taking part in a 10k run and possibly a tough mudder too but nothing has been set in stone there yet.
Thanks for reading my story.
