Snowdon Climb for Wales Air Ambulance Charity, 23 July 2022
We provide all-Wales emergency air cover to serve Wales & save lives 365 days a year

Story

On 23rd July 2021 I was involved in a serious motorcycle collison near the village of Groes in North Wales.

At the time of the collision there were no road Ambulances available for at least 5 hours and had the Wales Air Ambulance Charity not been available I would have likely not survived. It was discovered once I had been airlifted to hospital that I had 7 fractures to my neck, pelvis, arm, and wrist. Additionally, I had dislocated my elbow and had heavy internal/external bruising. Given that I had fractured my C2 veterbrae which normally is fatal or results in paralysis, time and treatment were critical. Thanks to the wonderful people in the Wales Air Ambulance Charity, I'm here today.

Wales Air Ambulance Charity is funded solely by public donations and receives no funding from NHS or Government. The charity requires £8 million a year to keep its four helicopters in the sky, serving Wales and saving lives. The charity can be anywhere in Wales within 20 minutes, its doctors and medics fly the A&E deptartment to the patient. It also runs the Children's Wales Air Ambulance service, transferring vulnerable babies and children to the specialist hospitals across the UK.Your donations will help keep this vital service in Wales.

Personally, I'll never be able to thank the team enough for what they did for me that day. I owe them my life.

I plan to climb Mt. Snowdon on 23rd July 2022. This will be exactly a year after the collision. If you're able to make even a small donation it would be hugely appreciated and the difference it could make could save someone's life.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
