Story

I've had crohns disease for coming up to 7 years now and its radically changed my life. Thankfully the incredible doctors & nurses on the nhs managed to get me stable on a treatment that i receive once every 6 weeks by iv. However the drugs obviously have side effects, one of which is hair loss. Now its quite hard to tell with my condition what the hair loss comes down too, since being diagnosed with crohns I also developed alopecia so whether that's treatment/crohns related they just can't tell. I've had alopecia for years now and its always been completely manageable, just little patches every now and again that cover up, but unfortunately about 5 months ago the hair started falling out like it hadn't before. Its really deflating having showers every morning with chunks and chunks of hair falling out, thankfully I had very long hair so i could get away without anyone noticing for a long while - but the time's come and I can't hide the fact anymore and what little hair is left is falling out as we speak. ANYWAY, this isn't a sob story for me! I'm not doing this for sympathy, i'm not doing this for attention. I'm doing this to raise money  and take control of this situation, I'm not going to let my hair determine who I am as a person.

It would mean the world to me if you could donate anything, whether its £5 or £100 the fact you've donated would be awesome. (£100 donations I would love a lot more). I think Crohns is a very misunderstood/unknown condition that many people have no idea about. And i know what you're thinking, and no it doesn't mean I shit myself a lot HAH! In fact my crohns is pretty much all physical, it completely drains me and I have to be careful when travelling/ performing that I get enough rest, work around the disease so i don't burn myself out. It's a disease that lasts a lifetime, and its a disease that can rapidly change. I'm currently in some sort of remission (My crohns symptoms are very low), but you can get sudden flare ups and things can go south pretty quickly. Finding a cure for crohns is what this money will go towards, there's a lot of incredible charities and I felt this was the right time to do my bit. I don't really have any goals/wishes for the donation total. Let's get as much as possible :) Anyway, thanks for your time. Cheers freaks.

Crohn’s and Colitis UK is a national charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We are fighting to achieve a better quality of life for the 300,000 people in the UK suffering physically and emotionally from these and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Ultimately, we want to find a cure.
