Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Heather and I are involved with the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service band, who are one of just four “Military Style” Fire Service bands in the country.
On 21st October, the band will be playing while marching the the route of the inaugural UK Tunnel to Towers run in London. Heather will be playing in the band, while Mark will be running in the race itself.
We will be raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity, who are the UK's leading provider of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire fighters, fire personnel and their families. Our vision is to make a positive difference by supporting people in the fire and rescue community when they are in need.
Over the years, we have helped hundreds of thousands of individuals by providing world-class treatment and support services.
It costs £9 million a year to keep the Charity running and with no government funding we are completely reliant on the generosity and enthusiasm of our supporters.
The role of a fire fighter is one of bravery, loyalty and devotion to public service. Just like fire fighters, we are passionate about our work and the services we provide to the men and women who risk their lives to save ours.
