On 2-3 March 2013, I will be attempting to paddle 60 miles in a solo open canoe along the River Thames for the MS Society. I'm going to try and complete it in as quick as time as possible. The plan is to put in at Culham Lock and finish around Romney Lock, taking around two days to complete.
Those of you who know me, will be aware that I am a 'paddler' - so may be thinking - pah - easy! However, those of you who know me well will know that I'm built for recreation not endurance! 60 miles is an extremely long way for a two day paddle solo in a laden traditional open canoe and it is going to be tough and painful! I usually paddle no more than about 10 miles on a good day!
Please show your faith that I can actually do this and dig as deep as you can! If you are a UK tax payer - please do remember to Gift Aid it!
Additionally, I'm also holding an online sweepstake for people to guess how quickly I will finish. You can cast your judgement at Guess2Give!
My chosen charity is the MS Society (please click on the info on this page to find out more about the terrific work they are doing for all people affected by Multiple Sclerosis. It's a life-changing condition that needs more recognition and awareness so please help me by telling people about it.
