Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Back in 2009 I climbed Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich. Due to an admin. mix up, it looked as if I would not be able to go, until Cooperation Ireland stepped in and kindly offered to host me for my challenge.
Fast forward 2 years and Cooperation Ireland have again kindly invited me to share in one of their challenges to Trek the Inca Trail - and I've willingly accepted!
Cooperation Ireland does a lot of very valuable work to help develop a peaceful, sustainable society across the whole of the Ireland. Their programmes reach out to young people and help them to overcome personal difficulties, understand how to better their lives and contribute to a better Ireland. The charity does this by seeking to develop strong community and North-South networks, establishing practical cooperation and mutual benefit projects, as well as acting as a leading participant in peace building and reconciliation.
Although my personal ties to Ireland are quite slim [my great grandfather served in the Irish Coastguard service and my grandad was born in Cork as a result]; I'm pleased to participate on this challenge and help Cooperation Ireland achieve its goals .. not least at this time of economic austerity and tighter budgets.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks to everyone who sponsors me. It is most appreciated!
Best regards
Mark
