Fundraising for Diabetes UK
Story
Hello there fellow Tesconians/customers/fans of The Mark Gamble Band! That time has come. A time none of us ever thought we would see...
THE Mark Gamble is in fact getting a haircut. What triggered this dramatic change? Who can say? Although, he did seem more up for the idea AFTER we told him we'd arrange a cardboard cutout of himself.
Mark is known for being the fifty something, suited and booted rocker down on Checkouts, or "that bloke with the hair". Although, Mark himself has had to deal with his fair share health problems. He fell ill & sadly discovered he needed a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). To cut a long story short, he now greedily has 4 kidneys. We all know he likes to show off but we're all in agreement he may have gone too far this time.
Mark had a long recovery ahead of him & still suffers the effects of his dramatic operation. So, naturally this is a matter he holds very close to his heart/kidneys. Because of this, Mark decided it was about time to do something drastic (with YEARS of violent nudging), Mr. Gamble will be cutting off his famous locks for a Kidney Charity, Tesco's own Diabetes UK Charity & is planning to donate his hair to The Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for little girls who have lost their hair to cancer.
Which, let's face it, is pretty darn swell!
Mark will be at the front of the store (Tesco Extra, St. Neots) 24/5/2014, doing something pretty great for charity (and fingers crossed he's not late), raising awareness & hopefully lots of moolah for these great causes! We expect a big crowd, lots of pics & lots of laughs.
