Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.

In June 2019, my Mother-in-law, Betty, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. After putting up a very courageous fight, Betty passed away peacefully on 19th February 2022 surrounded by her 5 daughters.

During her last days, Betty, and us a family, had the absolute fantastic support from Life & Time Charity. Life & Time are a Community based Registered Charity, they provide extra care at ‘End of Life’ in the home from 10pm – 8am. Each and every member of the team provided Betty with the utmost care and it was a privilege for us to have them in our home providing her with their services.

To support Life & Time, I have decided to take part in the Mourne Way Marathon on 11th June 2022. The marathon starts in Rostrevor, traverses the Mourne Mountains and takes in some of the best scenery and trail running Ireland has to offer with a mix of terrain, from rocks and gravel trails to open mountain, mud and grass, eventually crossing the finish line in Newcastle.

I would be very grateful for your support. Your contribution no matter how big or small will make a valuable difference to the vital services provided by Life & Time.
