On 1st January 2017, I was overweight, unfit and living a very unhealthy life. My daughter bought me a gym membership for my birthday - subliminal messages ??
Whilst in the gym, I noticed an advert for the Great Manchester 10K Run taking place in 5 months time - a target. Long story short - objective 1 achieved, followed by another 10K race in August. Then I spotted an opportunity to run a half marathon around the streets of London - I am now entered into the London Landmarks Half Marathon in March 2018. I decided to run with the Men United Team on behalf of Prostate Cancer UK and raise money for a very worthy cause Have a look at the event details at https://www.llhm.co.uk/
Prostate Cancer UK has taken the lives of my father and my wife’s uncle so I am running to raise money, awareness and in remembrance of a couple of wonderful gentlemen - Arthur Fearnley and Rob Jenkins.
Losing weight and getting fit is an ongoing journey - but having lost nearly 3 stones in 12 months, it’s going well - plenty of training still to do but on track so far
