150 Miles Weighted Walk
Campaign by Help for Heroes (RCN 1120920 (England & Wales) and SC044984 (Scotland))
Based on a style of military training called 'tabbing', your challenge is to walk 150 miles in July with any weight of your choice. You can tailor the weight to suit your ability, from an empty backpack to hand weights and beyond, it's up to you.

Story

Whether you choose to carry hand weights, a weighted vest or go full military style with a backpack, you'll be taking the load off the shoulders of veterans like Trevor. During one particular tour in Afghanistan one of his Corporals (Channing Day) was killed along with a Royal Marine which was, understandably, very difficult to deal with. After finishing this tour he came back to the UK, and in 2015 left the regular Army and attempted to ease into civvie street. He was diagnosed with PTSD in 2017 He said, “I also had the personal pride that so many in the Armed Forces have, in that talking about mental health was often seen as a sign of weakness.' Veterans like Trevor are able to get the help they need thanks to people like you. Our charity has already helped over 28,500 veterans not just to get by, but to thrive. And we need your help to continue providing valuable support to more veterans.
