Not having run since school, starting my journey to get fit, was a big challenge, which I embarked on in 2020. Despite starting off slowly, it soon became apparent that I had caught the bug, as the distances got further, until, I completed my first half marathon......There have been several more since!

My mum keeps pestering me to do a sponsored run so it was all about finding the right event and the right cause. The Great North Run is a bucket list item and just happens to fall very soon after my 50th birthday so this seemed like the ideal opportunity to raise some money.

Cats have always been a big part of my family's life and we currently have 3 adopted cats, one of which came from the Cats Protection. The Cats Protection do marvellous work in rescuing, neutering and rehoming thousands of cats across the country.
