Story
On the 19th of March 2022, I will be embarking on my biggest challenge yet. A 24hr row using Concept 2 rowing machines. The event will take place at RH20 Gym in Ashington from midday on the 19th to midday on the 20th. Working in teams of three, we are aiming to row 250km. That's the equivalent of rowing to the channel islands. We will be joined by Ocean Dadventure. 4 dads rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic in November 2022.
Why?
So many people I know and love have been affected by cancer. Some have survived, and some have sadly passed. And while they are battling cancer, their families often go unsupported. That's why I have chosen to participate in a 24hr row to raise money for WOLO.
Wolo Foundation helps families living in Sussex through their cancer journeys. They support them by offering practical help and support to make their day-to-day lives easier. They work with local businesses and communities to offer families a wealth of services to support them through their diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Statistics show that 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Life is precious - we need to make the most of it - we only live once - WOLO!
