Story
On the 1st January 2010, my father Terry, died following a long illness.
Over 20 years ago he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and we, as a family, have watched as he went from being an extremely active and hard-working husband and father to someone who relied on others to do just some of the basics, such as dressing and eating. The last 3 years of his life were spent in a nursing home where he received fantastic care - it is a tribute to the nursing staff that we were fortunate to get another 3 years with dad, as by this time, his health had declined to the point where he was left with limited movement in just one hand.
In spite of his suffering, he was not one to complain about anything and always had a positive outlook on life.
One of the things that really made him happy was seeing his 4 grandsons grow up, and we believe that his love for his family kept him going for a long time.
On the 25th April I will embarking on another marathon in . My fourth and probably last...........and this race is dedicated to the man I’m so very proud to call my dad.
Once again I will be trying to raise much needed funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre who were able to provide support to all of our family during my father's illness and since his death.
Anything that you may be able to donate would be greatly appreciated both by myself and the Charity
Many Thanks
Mark
