Mark's 50th Birthday celebration

Fundraising for Trinity Winchester
I'm embracing middle age in April with my 50th birthday, and I recognise I have had a very privileged life and have never lacked for anything. I now live in a very wealthy part of the world, in fact, in the second least deprived parish in England.
Yet, shockingly, even in this wealthy part of England there are people living on the streets, people who have homes and jobs but not enough food, and the social cohesion between those who have choices and those who don't is self-evident.
I’d love you to sponsor me for an overnight sleep-out for the Trinity Winchester nightshelter which is happening on Friday 11th May 2018. It's happening outside my work office, next to the ruins of Wolvesey Castle. At the same time the whole nation is joining in Thy Kingdom Come, to pray that Christians will bear more effective witness to Christ. It's important that we don't just pray, but that we also become more effective witnesses to Christ, so it's great to be doing this sleep out with colleagues from work.I don’t actually think raising money for charity is the answer. That's why I'm getting more involved in local politics and trying to understand how local government works. I think it's more important to change the nation so that we don't need night shelters and food banks, but that's going to take a little while to sort out, so in the mean time, this makes a contribution to those who need it now.
